Getting your braces put on can be an intimidating experience, but at King Orthodontics, we’ve put together information on what you can expect during your bonding appointment to help put your worries at ease.
Teeth are thoroughly cleaned with a non-flavored paste.
A cheek retractor in the mouth to provide a full view of the teeth and to keep the teeth dry.
Teeth are lightly air-dried.
A conditioner is placed on the teeth for 30 seconds and then rinsed.
The teeth are then dried, and a primer is applied to the teeth.
Suction is used to keep the teeth and the mouth dry so the adhesive sticks.
After the teeth are prepared, the bonding cement is applied to the backs of the braces and is then precisely placed on the teeth. Once the braces are placed, excess bonding cement is cleaned off of the teeth, and a light is used to cure the cement. After the adhesive is cured, the wires are put on, and then the orthodontist will put on the ties, which you can customize with a variety of colors.

Dr Bryan has received many honors as a practicing orthodontist including, being named a Diplomate of the American Board ofOrthodontics and being named a “Top Dentist” by Pittsburgh Magazine for several years running. He also earned the Lifetime achievement award given by Align Technologies in 2014 for his work with Invisalign.
